The Hammer of the Emperor
Hey guys, I've got some good and bad news to share today - though this update might tickle your collective
fancies. I've been buying, selling and trading lots of stuff lately
and what has most recently come into my collection is a massive Astra
Militarum army courtesy of some awesome people. I've finally got a huge
force that I can quickly and easily play games with or transport,
something I've had issues with in regards to Warhammer 40,000 (but not
Fantasy) for the past few years.
What this basically means is that I can start playing games of 7th Edition incredibly frequently and with a tough army that can be used as a platform to test out all sorts of friendly and enemy tactics. I'll have deeper insights into the Astra Militarum that I might not have had before without extensive play-testing, while I will also be able to work out more tactics to employ with certain units. The only downside is that I have got a lot of stuff on my plate unrelated to the blog at the moment in addition to lots of games lined up so I can't post as often as I would like, but the next one should still be ready for viewing in two days.
I'm really excited about this new army not only because of how fun and diverse they are, but also because it means I'll be able to improve the quality of my tactics articles significantly. Hopefully it works out as I have intended but in any case I want you all to have a wonderful day/night and look forward to hearing how your armies or hobby have been progressing. Cheers! Eel out.

Tactica Astra Militarum - Regimental Advisors
Greetings everyone, I'm Learn2Eel and today marks another article in the long-awaited Astra Militarum Tactica series! This time I'll be looking at the Regimental Advisors - those cheap little characters that can be added to a Company Command Squad and provide situational but generally useful abilities. I hope you find this an entertaining or insightful read!

Issues with Blogger
Hey guys, a quick update here that took far longer to post than it should have. I'm currently experiencing significant technical problems with Blogger and have found it difficult even to respond to comments on my articles. I haven't been able to edit my Company Command Squad article to include some wargear option appraisals I accidentally left out, while trying to work on the Regimental Advisors article has been close to impossible. I'll try and get this sorted ASAP but for now we'll all just have to be patient. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Tactica Astra Militarum - Company Command Squad
Hey there everyone, Learn2Eel here and today I am continuing my Astra Militarum Tactica with a look at Company Command Squads. These are the units that amplify the effectiveness of your regular Guardsmen ten-fold through Orders and a helpful array of codex-native Warlord Traits, while offering a nice buffer for Slay the Warlord because of their squad status. No competitive Astra Militarum codex army should do without Command Squads of some kind, and Company variants are easily the best available.

Tactica Astra Militarum - Commissar Yarrick
Howdy there folks, Learn2Eel here and today I want to kick off the Astra Militarum Tactica series with a look at the Hero of Armageddon, Commissar Yarrick. He boosts the resolve of nearby warriors, he is a tough Warlord that will rarely give up a Slay the Warlord victory point, he is pretty darn nasty in combat and he does all this at a super low cost. Yarrick has returned in a big way and I'm glad to see it as a childhood fan of his constant clashes against the terrifying Ghazghkull.

Posts Soon
Hey guys, just popping in to let you know that I'm working on the Astra Militarum 7th Edition Tactica series right now and the first article should be posted up tomorrow night. I've had an incredibly busy day and the rest of this week is shaping up to be a scorcher, so I probably won't be able to get regular posts again until the end of the week. I hope you are all having a great day; I'll be in touch soon!

7th Edition 40K Rules Analysis Part 3
Greetings ladies and gentlemen, my name is Learn2Eel from Imperator
Guides and today I want to bring you another look at the core rule
changes for 7th Edition Warhammer 40,0000! Instead of focusing on
psykers or any other specific section of the rules, I wanted to cover as
many major and minor rule changes from 6th Edition and their potential
effects in games. A note that I will not be directly quoting any rules
and will thus assume that you as a viewer have your own rulebook or
necessary information for my thoughts to form coherently. With that
said, I hope you enjoy this article!
This is Part Three of the Rules Analysis series.

Sony E3 Conference Round-Up
Live Conference Notes
- Start off with Destiny trailer featuring both CG and gameplay footage. Don't bother to introduce anyone before showing a game! Game looks amazing as always. It's clear Sony and Bungie have really got a rapport now if Destiny is head-lining the Sony conference. The game is insanely awesome! So much new gameplay footage, including a look at the backstory of Destiny. Destiny beta starts on July 17th for Playstation 4 owners! This Thursday, all PS4 owners can play Destiny for one day!
- Announcing a White Playstation 4 bundled with Destiny! White 500GB PS4, white Dualshock 4 controller, Destiny, PS+ voucher.
- The Order 1886 new gameplay footage! Game looks amazing as always, but this time it is set in a dark and moody setting. VERY moody and kind of creepy in a The Last of Us sense. Could this be the first time we see the mutants/vampires/zombies that were teased in the original CG trailer? Werewolves!
- Another game now, again no introduction. Looks beautiful with origami-style art. Looks very interesting and the music is great. It's the new game Entwined that Sony trade-marked a month or two ago! It is an indie game exclusive to Playstation 4. You control the two dragons at the same time, one with each analog stick, and you have to guide them through linear levels until they can come together at the end as lovers. The PS4 version is available right now for $10 USD! It is exclusive to Sony consoles - PS3, Vita, PS4.

Ubisoft E3 Conference Round-Up
Live Conference Notes
- Far Cry 4 first look at gameplay/pre-rendered footage. The villain...wow, crazy evil guy! Looks great as usual, this is most definitely a continuation of the awesome showing Far Cry 3 gave us. The villain appears to be voiced by Troy Baker which is just perfect. Business as usual guys, this looks great with a release date near the end of the year!
- Dance Central Now announced, we've got a whole dance ensemble going here with smart phone inter-connectivity. A lot better than the 1-minute "eh shove it out there" presentation Microsoft did for the Harmonix games. Scores tracked for everyone involved in the dance, cool idea.
- The Division coming up now, new trailer showing off the infection that destroys the world, very emotional and CG, now showing the world descending into chaos, are those NAZIs!? We've got dark-shrouded dudes with flames and gas-masks guys! Releasing 2015.
- The Crew up next, visuals look great especially for a fully open-world MMO racing game. Locations look impressive, they weren't kidding about traveling across all of North America apparently. Full day/night cycle, hard to say anything about the driving as it was all in fast-motion. Game developer on stage and talking about a tournament run between six different countries' representatives. Closed beta July 23rd! Release date November 11th.

Live Conference Notes
- Starting with DICE development video for Star Wars Battlefront, very in-depth, this better pay off with good trailer, early in-engine footage for a few seconds looks amazing, ends with "see more Spring 2015" which doesn't sound like a release date
- Live music performance accompanying new Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer with lots of similar beats to the trailer shown at Microsoft demo, various locales include cities/daemonic hellscapes/snowy tundra/lush forests/etc, the game is beautiful, lots of dragons, very impressive gameplay fighting a dragon with incredible flame effects, showing off the classic "tactical" camera.
- Another Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer showing off the characters; a Grey Warden (presumably the Dragon Age Origins player), a female Elf Serah, a male Qunari the Iron Bull, a female mage Vivienne.
- MASS EFFECT! More behind the scenes development footage (aww), conceptual prototypes shown of star systems and planets, sounds like exploration is a big part ala Mass Effect 1, confirmed races are humans/krogans, looks like day-night cycles for each planet. DAMN YOU EA! No trailer = incredibly disappointed.

E3 Press Conference Round-Ups
Hey guys, Learn2Eel here with another quick update. Tomorrow I'll be putting up the second article in my "7th Edition Rules Analysis" mini-series, as usual - I'm trying to get back into more regular posts lately. With that in mind, I'll also be staying up for Microsoft's E3 Conference and subsequently waking up early the next morning to watch Sony's E3 Conference, both live. While I don't think Blogger is really suited to a constant update kind of post, I will be doing some reviews/round-ups of all the stuff that happened in each conference and providing a summary of all the important announcements.
I've always been incredibly passionate about video games and I feel Imperator Guides has more to offer than just hobby-related articles. If you guys like the video-game oriented posts I'll keep them going, but if not then hey, there's nothing wrong with some experimenting, right? Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and I hope you have enjoyed my 7th Edition 40K articles. Eel out!

Watch Dogs Review
Hello there everyone, I'm Learn2Eel and today I wanted to talk about a game that has been among my most anticipated releases since it was first unveiled back in June 2012. I am of course referring to Ubisofts' Watch Dogs, an open world game inspired by famous series' such as Grand Theft Auto and Assassins Creed. I have spent the past week almost religiously playing it, exploring every nook and cranny and being immensely impressed by what I have seen. I hope you find this review helpful!

Psykers in 7th Edition - Malefic and Sanctic Daemonology
Hello there everyone, my name is Learn2Eel from Imperator Guides and today I wanted to bring you the final analysis of Psychic Disciplines in 7th Edition with Malefic and Sanctic Daemonology. The art of summoning and banishing Daemons through usage of the maligned Warp powers is one that has made its return to Warhammer 40,000 gameplay in a big way and I think most players are thankful for it. While game-balance concerns are certainly justified, I do feel the narrative potential of a psyker sacrificing their soul to the Chaos Gods for aid is awesome and gives the game a lot of extra flavour that I feel is a continuation of the "cinematic" 6th Edition. I hope you enjoy this article!
Astra Militarum, Orks and other Tacticas
Hey guys, this is a quick early morning (or late night!) update for those of you wondering about the status of future Tactica series, including the now very late Astra Militarum series. Here is a schedule of what I am planning content-wise in the near future;
Early June - Psykers in 7th Edition Final Reviews, Watch Dogs video game review
Mid June - Analysis of Important Rules Changes
Late June to Late July - Astra Militarum Tactica 7th Edition, 6th Edition Tactica updates
August - Orks Tactica 7th Edition
September onwards - Future Warhammer 40,000 release Tactica(s) OR Warhammer Fantasy: Dark Elves Tactica (if no other 40K release occurs), various video game reviews (Dragon Age: Inquisition, Driveclub, etc)
I am pretty poor at maintaining schedules with the amount of content published for each Tactica series often varying dramatically as well as the speed at which articles are produced, but this is the base-line schedule I am trying to adhere to for now. I've allotted a month at least for each Tactica series just in case they end up being Tyranid-sized endeavours but hopefully they shouldn't take that long to finish. I've been pretty busy lately between doing all the usual day-to-day stuff as well devoting time to both Watch Dogs and the 7th Edition rulebook for review purposes. I've been studying each codex as well to try and find new really nasty combos and so far I am impressed with all the changes 7th Edition has wrought in terms of potential army builds and so on.
With that said, I'll leave you guys to it and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day (or evening)!
